The Best Pomerol 2009

A vineyard of 7 ha vines of 30 years Middle Age, located on the plate of Pomerol, on the gravel-sand ground rich in iron filth, quite typical (75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet franc). Particularly appreciated this Pomerol 2005, of beautiful vivid robe, a very scented wine, with the nose of macerated fruits and humus, typified well, robust, of beautiful structure, a wine which combines structure and roundness in mouth, of beautiful guard. Tasty 2004, of garnet-red color, with delicious tannins, very well matured, all in aromatic nuances, with pepper and crystallized cherry notes. Beautiful 2003, generous, coloured, with the nose prevailed by the humus and the red small fruits, full and fleshy stops some, very well-balanced, a fleshy wine, of excellent evolution.

At the top of Second Classified High-class wines. A vineyard of 4,5 ha (70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet franc), where one matures this Pomerol 2005, a wine of fleshy mouth, dress ruby, with the concentrated nose (violet and blackcurrant), with tannins quite molten but very present, quite persistent in finale, still quite young. The 2004 are a wine where the smoothness prevails, with these notes very characteristic of leather and slightly crystallized fruits, with full tannins, of beautiful structure. The 2003, with the powerful and subtle nose at the same time, the connotations of ripe small fruits and truffle, are molten in mouth and promising. Their other Pomerol Château Ferrand 2005 (12 ha) is a wine of nature, with the nuances of morello cherry and liquorice, robust, mouthfull, with rich tannins. Tasty 2004, intense, very scented (truffle, morello cherry, leather), which is tasted perfectly. Beautiful quality-price-pleasure ratio.

A family property located at 60 m of altitude, exposed to the south-west, which have old vines from 40 to 45 years, and the planted grape varieties to prevalence of black Merlot (85%) is supplemented by Cabernet franc (10%) and Cabernet-Sauvignon (5%). Sure value with this Pomerol 2005, resulting from a typical coarse sand soil comprising an underlayer of crasse de fer (iron pan), deep dress ruby, with these aromas of fruits surmûris, spices, leather, well characteristics. A fleshy and quite robust wine, with rich and tasty tannins at the same time. Beautiful 2004, with the intense nose of fruits and humus, slightly spiced as it must, of good mouth.
